The game of African stereotypes and reactions. How many times have you been asked if you speak African? How many times have you rolled your eyes when the insect in the "feed children in Africa" commercial appears? Or when a friend who has never left the continent has a British accent?
What is the first thing that you think of when you hear these words: African parents, African nurses, a black cat, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt? We all use stereotypes, even without knowing it. This is a really fun game on the stories and experiences of Africans on the continent and in the diaspora.
In the box: 50 Question cards, 270 Answer cards and a game guide.
It's a pretty straightforward game. Each round, a rotating dictator (decision maker) reads a Question card and citizens (players) answer with the best fitting or funniest Answer card in their hand. The dictator reads the Answer cards aloud and decides who wins each round. A new round starts and a new dictator takes over.

I received this game specifically to write a review. That said, I try to be honest and open in all my reviews.(Please see the enclosed pictures.)Let me start out by saying that this is a game for people with the ability to laugh at themselves and common African stereotypes. In that way, this game is very, very similar to Cards Against Humanity. If you are easily offended then stop reading now. This game is not for you.Additionally, if you know nothing about Africa or the many cultures and nations there then you can play, but you will miss much of the humor and fun associated with the game. That said, there is a huge audience for this game. My friends and I played the game. It was a mixed group in about every conceivable way to include a couple from West Africa. After the first round, the woman of the pair was laughing so hard we had to take a break. When I say Africa, I do not mean born and raised in North America with no real understanding of African culture. If you are from Africa or you are first or second generation with many family traditions and a strong connection to Africa then you will likely love the game.I spent time in Africa for years on and off and grew to love the people and the multitude of cultures found there. This game pokes fun at some of the common notions. For example, the only time you are quiet is when you are in a four hour religious service (Africans as a whole are known for enjoying life and being social with their friends and family), or every third man is working as a police officer (in many countries, the government is the biggest employer). If you know African culture and have a good sense of humor then I highly recommend this loving homage to Africa.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this game but it is funnier than I thought it would be! I'm not African by ethnicity but I've lived in both west and east Africa so many of these relate to me.As a caucasian, I wasn't sure how I would feel playing this game as I didn't want to it to come off as racist in any way; however, most of the cards are just related to general life in Africa, African political history and funny things about living in Africa and have nothing to do with a specific ethnicity. A few of the cards are about growing up in an African household, so those didn't relate personally to me, but still very funny and relatable across cultures. I do have to say, this is catered more toward Southern, East and West Africa, but not so much North. We had a good laugh playing this game!
bought just in time for christmas and it went down a treat! from young (my 8, 12, 13 year olds to older generation took part and there was so much laughter! great concept, and prompts for fond and not so fond childhood memories!
Great game. But wish it was slightly cheaper would have loved to buy more than one. But at its price n for a newer game compared to other older board games it was a little pricier. But overall very funny game with updated memes.
There’s nothing to dislike about this product. It will get loud and crazy , and there will be so much laughter your neighbors might wonder what’s going on. It is hands down my favourite new game . This is one for Africans on the continent and in diaspora and for the people that love us and our continent !
